Secondary
Glazing
Secondary glazing is a cost effective way of improving heat
retention and noise reduction. It can be manufactured to suit
most window types and applications. It provides an easy solution
to combat drafts and noise pollution without the upheaval
and cost of new windows. Secondary glazing is also an ideal
solution to the problems that arise in listed and protected
buildings where replacement windows are not an option. To
achieve the best performance from a secondary unit they must
be located at least 2 inches from the primary window. This
will provide a high level of thermal and acoustic insulation.
The secondary units come as standard in white (to BS 4842)
or base alloy (silver anodised to BS 1615 – 1972)) but
can be powder coated to match most colours.
We offer a range of secondary units comprising:
- Horizontal sliding – 2/3/4 panel
- Vertical sliding sash with integral balance springs
- Fixed pane

The secondary units can be glazed in:
- 4mm clear/obscure - float/toughened
